常见题材中英译汉名转动现象——基于语料库的研究

On the Conversion of English Nouns into Chinese Verbs in Common Genres: A Corpus-Based Study

英汉两种语言存在着诸多差异,在翻译时常常会采用词类转换的方法。英译汉中的名转动就是其中之一。在笔者构建的微型语料库基础上对该现象进行较为详尽的描述和分析,归纳了常发生名转动的名词类型,探究不同题材中名转动的使用情况。常发生名转动的名词大致有六类,并且在不同题材中该六类名词会因题材风格、受众特点等因素产生不同的分布。使用名转动的方法可准确传达原文意义,使译文通顺流畅。

There exist many distinctions between English and Chinese. Therefore, the method of converting between parts of speech is often used and the conversion of English nouns into Chinese verbs is a very common one. Based on the self-constructed mini-corpus by the author, this phenomenon is analyzed in great detail, including the types of the nouns that are prone to be converted, and the distribution of each type in different genres. There are roughly six types of nouns that are likely to be converted; besides, in different genres their distributions vary according to elements like styles of articles in question, characteristics of the readers and so on. The exertion of such conversion can help to express the intended meaning of the original passage, as well as to make the translated version acceptable to the Chinese.
