Re- exploration of the Characteristics of Guangfu Association

光复会与同盟会等革命团体一样,为辛亥革命的胜利作出了重大贡献。但当站在一定的时代、地域和社会条件造就的历史舞台来探析时,其政治、军事、组织活动及思想倾向,就表现出不同于同盟会等团体的特点:更注重采用传统学术手段以至语言,作为发动、宣传和推动革命的主要思想武器;斗争内容上更加强调反满,表现出浓厚的种族论色彩;在对近代民主政治的理解和解读方面存在不小的偏差。这些特点也影响了它斗争的开展。

Like any other revolutionary societies such as the Chinese Revolutionary League, the Guangfu Association makes great contributions to the success of the Xinhai Revolution. On the stage of history in particular times and under particular regional and social conditions, the political, military, organizational activities and ideological tendency of the Guangfu Association manifested its own characteristics different from those of other social groups. The Association focuses more on the use of the traditional academic means, language included, as the main ideological weapon to launch, publicize and promote the revolution; it puts more emphasis on anti - Man content and thus bears strong racial overtones ; there is a deviation in the understanding and interpretation of modern democratic politics. These characteristics have greatly affected its development compared with other similar societies.
