This paper analyzes the development status of sci-tech novelty retrieval in university library under the background of big data, expounds the influence of the quality of novelty retrieval personnel including information awareness, professional quality, intelligence analysis ability and professional moral accomplishment on the quality of scitech novelty retrieval, and points out that should cultivate the team awareness and professional ethics of novelty retrieval and improve the comprehensive quality of sci-tech novelty retrieval personnel through participating in academic conferences and information resource construction.
