The antibacter ial agent characteristics, antibacterial property measurement and evaluation technology, the prospect and development trend of the research on organic, inorganic and natural antibacterial agents both at home and abroad were reviewed in this paper. The various qualitative and quantitative test methods of antibacterial performance were introduced in detail. The standards and systems of the experiment and evaluation methods were collected and organized across the board. The research and application of antibacterial agent would become an important direction of development of the field of daily products. This study may be valuable for the research, development and application of new antibacterial agent.
