On Service Function of City Sculpture

城市雕塑是毋容置疑的公共艺术,但不同于陈设在展馆里的公共艺术,它占有城市一定空间,被人们不自觉欣赏,因此建设城市雕塑要首先考虑其公共性,然后考虑其艺术性。城市雕塑应该在统一城市规划中体现"展示城市特色、反映城市精神和增加城市空间、构建休憩体系"的功能,为城市发展和市民生活做出特有的服务。

City sculptures are no doubt the public art,But it is different from the display of public art in the galleries.It occupies a certain space,appreciated unconsciously by people,So the construction of city sculptures must first consider its publicity,and then its artistic quality.City sculpture should be unified in urban planning,showing city characteristic,reflecting the city spirit and increasing the urban space,building open system,which reflect the unique function of serving urban development and its residents.
