古代大别山区的"蛮人"部落是多个民族部落的融合体。大别山区蛮人部落的解体,是长期渐进的历史过程。由畜牧转向农业,从单一的粮食生产到茶叶的主产区,内部经济生活的演进是蛮人部落解体的内力,多民族国家发展中的民族大融合是它的外力。大别山区蛮人部落的解体在隋统一时基本完成。大别山区文化的特征随之成型。

The Uncivilized Tribe in the ancient Dabieshan Area was a mixture of some smaller tribes from different nationalities.The disintegration of the Tribe experienced a long,gradual process,during which the local people developed farming instead of raising livestock and produced more and more tea rather than grains.This progress of economic life disintegrated the Tribe as the internal force,while the mixture with other nationalities fastened the steps of its disintegration from the outside.The disintegration of the Uncivilized Tribe nearly came to the end when the Sui Dynasty united the nations,with which the cultural characteristics in the area shaped as well.
