The paper presents a practical software-mode-based operator training system for a hydroelectric plant. The architecture of the system is briefly introduced. The modeling and simulation of a hydroelectric plant is also discussed. Afterward, the integrating methodology of the system is provided in coordination with the internal software structure of the system. The application to a hydroelectric plant in South China demonstrates the operator training system can satisfy the training needs.
