摘要
分析了彼得·凯里小说创作对"美国梦"深刻解读,认为其长篇小说从不同层面反映了美国文化对澳大利亚文化的渗透和影响,美国影响给澳大利亚带来了诸多社会弊病,物质主义和消费文化的盛行造成了人们的精神荒芜。
The profound interpretation of ＂the American Dream＂ in Peter Carey＇s works is analyzed. It considers that, his novels reflect the penetration and influence of American culture to the Australian culture, social problems brought by American by the prevalence of materialism and consumer influence; and the people＇s spiritual wasteland caused culture.
