习仲勋与西北人民革命大学

Xi Zhongxun and the Northwest People's Revolutionary University

新中国成立前后,习仲勋为培养训练西北地区急需的干部队伍,指导创办了西北人民革命大学,为办好西北人民革命大学倾注了很大的心血。他参加了第一期开学典礼和毕业典礼,号召学校保持民主作风和艰苦朴素的作风,希望毕业学员"成为建设新中国事业中的突击手",并高度评价和大力推广西北民大办学经验。西北民大继承了延安大学培养青年知识分子的教育经验,继续坚持延安时期的理论联系实际的教学方式,并进一步总结出团结教育改造知识分子和留用人员的新鲜经验。西北民大后来发展成为西北政法大学。

About die time New China was founded, Xi Zhongxun guided people to establish the Northwest People＇s Revolutionary University in order to train officials urgently needed in northwest China, and devoted himself to running this university well. He attended the opening and graduation ceremony for the first group pf students, called on maintaining a democratic style of work and a plain living lifestyle, and hoped the graduates could ＂become pace-setters in accomplishing the cause of New China＂. He spoke highly of and vigorously promoted the experience in running the university. This university carried forward the experience of Yan＇an University in training young intellectuals, continued to adhere to the teaching method of combining theory and practice which was prevalent during the Yan＇an time, and further summarized new experience in uniting with, educating and remoulding intellectuals and retained staff. The Northwest People＇s Revolutionary University later became the Northwest University of Politics and Law.
