Thorough destruction of nuclear weapons is the common ideal of the world.The reduction of tactical nuclear weapons between the U.S.and Russia opens a new path toward a world free of nuclear weapons and plays an important role in realizing the'global zero'prospect.It will eliminate the immediate threat of tactical nuclear weapons to the international community,take away the ladder for escalating the nuclear war,provide experience and reference for the further reduction of strategic nuclear weapons,and ensure the safety,stability and irreversibility of the process toward the world free of nuclear weapons.Reduction of tactical nuclear weapons will not be easy,involving many issues worthy of further study such as U.S.and Russia's reduction willingness,reduction mode and reduction steps.Nevertheless,compared to strategic nuclear weapons,it is more operational to take steps to reduce tactical nuclear weapons by the U.S.and Russia.The key is that both sides should have the political will and solve each other's security concerns.
