新西兰在南极拥有重要的主权、环境、安全和商业利益,其实现和维护南极国家利益的政策实践围绕着科学研究、环境保护、维护和平、国际合作、宣传教育等五项活动展开。中新两国在南极科学、环境和安全方面可巩固利益共同体;在联合科研、专业人才培养、后勤保障、气候变化等方面可以优势互补,互利合作;在南极旅游和教育方面则有继续拓展的合作空间。

New Zealand has significant sovereign,environmental,security and business interests in the Antarctica;in order to achieve and maintain these national interests in the Antarctica,New Zealand's Antarctic policies center on scientific research,environmental protection;safeguarding peace of the region;international cooperation and propaganda and education.China and New Zealand share common interests in the fields of Antarctic science,environment and security;both can learn from each other in the areas of joint research,professional training,logistic support and climate change;cooperation in Antarctic education and tourism could be promoted in the future.
