科场是男性的决胜场。但在驰骋文场的须眉背后,还有一个值得关注的女性群体。她们以举子的配偶为主,还包括举子的母亲、女儿。她们的命运与举子紧密联系在一起,同荣辱,共进退。同时,女性地位的卑微,也使她们的命运充满了不可知的变数。

The imperial examination is like a battle for male. But there is a remarkable group of women behind the men who performed well in the examination. They are mainly the spouses of the candidates for the imperial examination, or the mothers and the daughters. Their fate is closely linked with the candidates, sharing the honor and disgrace together. At the same time, for the humble status of female, their fate is full of unknown variables.
