《瓦尔登湖》徐迟译本和王家湘译本的对比研究

Comparative Study of Two Translated Versions of Walden by Xu Chi and Wang Jiaxiang

从翻译策略和用词风格两方面对比分析《瓦尔登湖》的两个译本。在翻译策略上,徐迟多采用直译的方法,尽量保持了原作的句法结构;王家湘主要采取意译的方法,更加着眼于文字的流畅自然,必要时改变了句子的结构。在用词风格上,徐迟的译本含蓄典雅、隽永恬淡;王家湘的译本平实自然、轻松活泼。两个版本各有美妙之处,但纵观全局,笔者认为徐迟的译本更能传递出原作的神韵。

This paper compares two translated versions of Walden from these two aspects of translation strategies and language styles. On translation strategies, Xu Chi mainly adopts literal translation and tries to keep the syntactic structures of the original work in the selected sections in this paper while Wang Jiaxiang mainly adopts free transla- tion and changes the syntactic structures of the original work if necessary to achieve the smooth and natural effect. On language styles, Xu Chi＇ s version is subtle, elegant, tranquil and thought - provoking while Wang Jiaxiang＇ s version is plain, natural, light and pleasing. Each version has its own merits. From a comprehensive perspective, however, the author thinks Xu Chi conveys the charm of the original work better.
