An Investigation of Shanghai Junior College Students' Understanding of Limit

通过问卷调查、课堂提问和课后访谈的方式研究上海大专学生对极限的概念、计算以及存在性这三方面的理解.学生难以描述极限的概念,对未定式极限的计算存在困难,难以理解函数在某点极限存在性与函数在这点定义无关.

This paper mainly investigated Shanghai junior college students＇ understanding of the concept of limit, the calculation of limit and the existence of limit through the questionnaire investigation, classroom questioning and the interview way. Majority of the students have difficulty to describe the concept of limit and calculate the indeterminate form limit and understand that there is nothing to do with the limit existence of function at one point and the definition of function in this.
