This paper summarizes Professor Xie Jianguo＇s experience in treating polycythemia vera. It is believed that branch of this disease is qi deficiency and blood stasis,and root of this disease is deficiency of kidney origin. Self-made formula ＂New Buyang Huanwu Decoction ＂ can be used for the treatment of polycythemia vera. One proven case is presented.
