A Research on Face-negotiation in Conversational Communications and its Meaning

摘要 话语交际要顺利开展,就要讲究交际方式的得体、成功和合作,其中维护交际双方的面子也是交际成功的一个重要因素。虽然面子的概念主要起源于东方文明,但是在世界不同文化背景下都有面子这个不可回避的概念。交际要成功开展,交际双方就要根据多种因素,开展面子协商行为,再使用合适策略的过程中,才能达到理想的交际目的。 Maintaining mutual face is a key factor in a successful discourse communication besides appropriateness, success and cooperation. The concept of face cannot be ignored in different cultures around the world although it is considered that the concept is originated from the orient. In order to be successful in a communication both parties should carry out the action of face-negotiation using the proper strategies, and thus communication can reach a desired goal.
