On School Publishing of Suzhou in Yuan Dynasty

元代苏州的学校出版,虽然不是十分发达,却是苏州出版的主力军。官方对出版事业的严格控制,加上科举制度的名存实亡,导致出版事业相对比较萧条,以致儒学出版和书院出版流传至今的图书十分稀少。

Although school publishing is not very prosperous in Yuan Dynasty, it is a main force of Suzhou publish- ing industry. Owing to the local government＇ s restriction on the publishing and the nominal existence of imperial examination, the publishing was then in depression and the books of Confucianism and school publishing are now in scarcity.
