Professional social work and its practitioners need the cultivation of individual core competence. Professional values, professional knowledge system, professional techniques constitute the main body of the core competence of social work. China＇s current social work and professional education must be guided by social needs,with focus on the cultivation of competence, strengthening of practical training, the development of ＂know-how＂ education, the construction of professional characteristics, and strengthening the core competitiveness, so as to solve the problems of validity and rationality of social work development.
