本文从东方主义视角出发,对基帕尔·辛格这一人物形象进行解读和分析。通过对基帕尔·辛格形象的塑造,一方面重现了西方人眼中的东方;另一方面呈现了基帕尔治愈创伤,重新找回自我进而消解东方主义的过程。随着小说人物之间交流和沟通的深入,推动了东西方和睦相处、平等交流的进程。

From the perspective of Orientalism, this essay interprets and analyzes the man named Kirpal Singh. By the character shaping of Kirpal Singh, on the one side, it reproduces the oriental in the eyes of occidental;on the other side, Kirpal recovers from his psychological trauma and reconstructs himself. During the process of taking away Orientalism, it deepens the communication and exchanging among people and pushes forward the oriental and the occidental talks and peace process.
