摘要
形貌修辞是一种旨在利用字体字形、排列方式、标点符号、图形图表等手段来提高作品视觉效果的修辞方式,在文学创作中多有应用。本文以霍译《红楼梦》为例,从字体字形、排列方式和标点符号三个方面论述了形貌修辞在文学翻译中的应用。霍译《红楼梦》中的形貌修辞体现出很强的主体性和创造性,在具体语境中的认知凸显度十分明显,为其译文的总体文学性和艺术性贡献了一份力量。形貌修辞在文学翻译中有很大的应用潜力,译者要善于根据题旨情境对之进行充分利用,以提高译文的视觉效果。
Morphological rhetoric is a kind of rhetorical device that employs the form of words or characters, the arrangement of words or sentences,punctuation and diagram etc to enhance the visual effect of a text and it is widely used in literary creation. This paper,exemplified by David Hawkes' translation of Hong Lou Meng,illustrates the applicability of morphological rhetoric in literary translation. Morphological rhetoric in Hawkes' translation of Hong Lou Meng is very prominent,which embodies,to a large extent,the translator's subjectivity and creativity,contributing a lot to the overall artistic effect of his translation. It has vast potential application in literary translation and thus the translator should take full advantage of it according to specific themes and contexts so that the visual effect of their translations may be effectively promoted.
