运用民族志方法研究图书馆用户,在国外已形成一股较有影响的图书馆学研究潮流,而国内对于该研究取向还较少关注。此文结合美国高校图书馆的一项用户研究项目,介绍民族志方法在图书馆研究中的具体操作和运用,并阐释其对于图书馆员深入洞察用户需求的作用和意义。

In foreign developed countries, employing the method of ethnography in library user studies has become an influential trend of library science research. By contrast, less attention is paid to this research orientation in domestic. Based on a user studies project of university libraries in the United States, this paper introduces the operation and use of ethnographic methods in library study, and interprets the implications for librarians＇ insight into user demands.
