The memory has always been cited by reality, but human's self-identity may sometimes be obstructed and fail. Norwegian Wood reflects this inverse relation between memory and self-identity. To the various figures in Norwegian Wood and other works of Maruki Murakami, and even to every individual, human life is limited,"self"is always an uncompleted defective state suffering conflicts and splitting. Despite that we always try to repair it,it is essentially unrepairable, and in fact it does not need to be repaired. It is just the various fractures and cracks that constituted the features of "self"as my own "self".
