Criticism and Salvation: A Study of Marcuse's Critical Theory Based on The Manuscripts in Paris

From a perspective of historical development,this paper explores the critical theory of HerbertMarcuse. Comparing with Marx's analysis in the early capitalist society,and on the basis of The Manuscripts in Paris,the article hackles the development of Marcuse's critical theory in the aspects of criticism perspective,revolutionary road,revolutionary motive force and aesthetic salvation,and analyzes Marcuse 's critical theory from two dimensions of criticism and salvation.
