Mr.Liao Xudong's Contribution to School Grammar

廖序东先生重视理论研究与教学研究的融合,吸取前人成果之精华,概括规律,探索方法,撰写了《现代汉语》。从"江苏本"、"兰州本"到"高教本",反映了以经典文献为根基,对汉语语法系统的透彻思考;教材形成的历史轨迹和新鲜观念,也体现了语法教学由句本位向词组本位的演变过程。

Mr.Liao Xudong paid more attention to the combination of theoretical research and teaching research in his Chinese research.He took in the essence from his predecessors＇ research,generated linguistic laws,explored research methods,and thus successfully published his Modern Mandarin.From the first version published in Lanzhou by Gansu People＇s Publishing House to the latest ones published in Beijing by Higher Education Press,the revision of Modern Mandarin shows that Mr.Liao＇s thorough thinking on Chinese grammatical system based on his classical philological research.The revision of Modern Mandarin and the change of the relevant opinions in the textbook reflected the transformation of Chinese school grammar from the sentence-centered stage to the phrase-centered stage.
