浅析中医英文翻译解释策略

An Analysis on Interpretation Strategies in English Translation of TCM

中医典籍既包含治病救人的医术,又与中国传统文化和哲学紧密相关,在翻译的时候容易顾此失彼。本文结合一些实际翻译案例,分析了中医英译过程所采用的解释性意译、音译加解释、直译加解释、文后附注释等不同的解释策略,指出可根据翻译目的,选择不同的解释策略,实现内容与形式的统一。

The classics of TCM not only include the medical techniques, but also are closely related to the Chinese traditional culture and philosophy. Therefore, in translation of TCM classics into English, it is usually difficult to coordinate both. This article cites some real translation cases to discuss different interpretation strate- gies such as explanatory free translation, transliteration plus explanation, literal translation plus explanation and attachment of explanatory, notes and points out that a translator can coordinate the content and the language char- acteristics well through choosing appropriate interpretation strategies in consideration of the aim of translation
