摘要
《青年艺术家的画像》是乔伊斯创作的第一部现代主义长篇小说。这部作品在文学类型上属于成长小说,全书的高潮充分展现在主人公斯蒂芬突破自我的"精神顿悟"之中。结合弗洛伊德的精神分析和文学伦理学理论,透过主人公的成长困境及伦理选择,重新解读其艰难成长过程,可以更深刻地理解该文本内容。
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is Joyce＇ s first modernistic novel. It belongs to the subgenre of Bildungsroman. Ste- phen＇ s epiphany is the climax of the novel. From the perspectives of Freud＇ s psychoanalysis and ethical literary criticism, the detailed analyses of Stephen＇ s predicaments and ethical choice will unveil the mysteries of his painful growth as well as throwing new light on the text.
