摘要
在现代教育改革中,"新教育"几乎是"现代教育"的同义语。"新教育"究竟是怎么一回事,如何看待标榜"儿童中心"(或"学生本位")的新教育,是基础教育改革中不容回避的问题。鉴于杜威一度被视为"进步教育"的代言人,故本文着重介绍杜威对进步教育的客观分析。其中涉及进步教育实践的基本特点(共同要素),新教育同传统教育的主要区别,新教育本身问题的症结,从中触及教育舆论中"新教育"解读的误区。由此进一步讨论杜威在进步教育与传统教育争论中的角色地位问题。
In the context of modern education reform, the"new education"has been seen as identical to the"modern education".However, it is an inevitable question in basic education reform that how to understand the "new education"that advertise"child centered education"(a. k. a. "student centered education"). Considering that John Dewey has been seen as the advocator of the"progressive education", the current paper focus on Dewey's objective analysis of the progressive education, which includes the basic character of progressive education practice, the main differences between the "new education"and traditional education, and the underlying problems of the"new education". With such analysis, the misunderstandings about the"new education"in the discussions of education should reveal themselves. Also discussed in this article is Dewey's position in the debate between progressive education and traditional education.
