“蒋廷黻资料”中的“中国自由党”

哈佛大学哈佛燕京图书馆所藏"蒋廷黻资料"中保存了不少有关蒋廷黻筹组中国自由党的历史资料。研究分析其中的四类新史料,有助于充实与扩展对于中国自由党的研究。蒋廷黻在致胡适《备忘录》中,对建立中国自由党的的动机、目标与需要面对的问题进行了详尽的说明;《中国自由党组织纲要草案》是关于中国自由党的最重要文件;蒋廷黻与中外友人的往来函件,则展示了其他人对中国自由党的态度。这些新资料充分说明,组建中国自由党更多的是蒋廷黻个人的理想,他虽然做了许多努力,但其理想与现实差距太大,其朋友也并不完全认同与支持,因而当时组党成功的机会十分渺茫。

The purpose of this paper is to full and expand the research of the Chinese Liberal Party,using the new historical materials of ＂ Archives of Dr.Tsiang Tingfu＂ hold at Harvard-Yenching Liberal of Harvard University,U.S.A.,Tsiang wrote A memorandum to Hu Shih to explain the his motives,goals and the issues he was faced of the new party.The Constitution of the Chinese Liberal Party was the most important document of the new party.And the correspondence between Tsiang and others showed his friends＇ manners toward establishing a new party.The new historical materials prove that the Chinese Liberal Party was the ideal of Tsiang himself,he worked hard for this goal,but there was a gap between his ideal and reality,and his friends both at home and abroad did not supported him unconditionally.For that reasons,there was very small possible to establish a new party at that moment.
