Red Star over China,written by Edgar Snow,the first western journalist to penetrate into the mysterious territory in north-west China in 1936,was a masterpiece and an immediate success in Britain,where it was first published. Through its multiple Chinese translations,the book was made historic in the minds of Chinese. Among the many translations,the one published in 1979 was a classic version due to various reasons.
