The system of Eight Banners is key to understanding the structure and characteristics of the Qing Empire. In this paper, by studying the expansion and diversity of Eight Banners, as well as the background and purpose of setting up the Eight Banners in the Northeast China after their conquering the Central Plain, we further analyze the whole situation and the characteristics of Eight Banners.
