Relationship between Empathy and Prosocial Tendency among College Students

从沧州市三所高校抽取610名在校大学生为调查对象,采用共情量表和亲社会行为倾向量表,考察了大学生的共情水平和亲社会行为倾向之间的关系,同时还考察了社会赞许性、大五人格中的"宜人性"和自尊对于两者关系的影响.相关分析表明:一般共情总分与亲社会倾向之间存在显著相关;回归分析结果表明:宜人性、社会赞许性和自尊在一定程度上也会对亲社会行为倾向具有预测作用,具有高宜人性、高社会赞许性和高自尊的大学生通常也会表现出更强的亲社会倾向.共情正向预测了亲社会行为倾向,在控制了社会赞许性、"宜人性"和自尊等因素后,共情的预测作用仍然显著.这一结果对于高校的德育和政治思想工作具有重要的指导意义.

The current study explored the relationship between the level of empathy and prosocial tendency using 610 college students as a sample. Empathy and prosocial tendency were assessed by Empathy Scale and Prosocial Tendency Measure,respectively. At the same time,several possible psychological factors that influence the relationship between empathy and prosocial behaviors,including social desirability,agreeableness of Big Five,and self-esteem were examined. Correlation and regression analyses indicated that empathy predicted positively prosocial behavior tendency of college students. The predictive effect remains significant even after controlling the roles of social desirability,agreeableness of Big Five,and self-esteem. The finding is of great significance as a guideline for moral education and political and ideological work of colleges.
