区域性经济合作与区域经济一体化是经济全球化时代的重要经济特征。在我国,以省界划分区域界限的概念越来越被淡化,部分地区区域经济合作取得了良好的成绩,先后出现了长三角、珠三角和环渤海等城市群。打造"中四角"城市群是中部地区湘、鄂、赣、皖四省基于区域经济共同发展、打造中国第四经济增长极而提出的一个全新的概念。但也应该看到"中四角"城市群与其他三大城市群存在的各方面的差距和不足。结合四省各自特点和当前的发展状况,试图探寻一条符合"中四角"当前发展现状和未来发展趋势的发展道路。
