Shopping Behavior and Its Spatial Characteristics of the Urban Elderly in Ningbo

摘要 运用结构式访谈和深度访谈,探索宁波市海曙区老年人的购物行为及空间特征。研究发现:1城市老年人的购物行为通常发生在小区内或小区周边,购物圈为离家0~500m;老年人购物频率呈现每天购买蔬菜食品、隔一天购买日用品,外出购物主要发生在上午,且以步行为主。2城市老年人购物行为受到年龄、性别、收入和家庭结构的综合影响,年龄是老年人购物行为内部分异的最重要因素。3城市老年人购物行为主要分为经济实惠型、成熟理智型、享受生活型和新潮时尚型,购物行为空间基本符合距离衰减定律,但局部有波动且表现为跳跃式五圈层。 Taking the urban elderly from 4 communities in Haishu district, Ningbo City as the research objects to analyze their shopping behavior and its spatial characteristics, and discuss the formation mechanism by deploying the research methodologies of structural and in-depth interviews. The study shows: 1The urban elderly always choose the shopping stores inside their communities or around them. A distance within 0-500 meters is their main shopping circle. The elderly contain a quite high frequency of shopping. They would like to purchase vegetables and food almost every day as well as to buy daily necessities every other day. Walking is the better choice for them and they would rather shop in the morning.2Four aspects of residents attributes will leave an influence on the shopping behavior of the urban elderly, which are age, gender, income and family structure. Among them, age is one of the most important factors causing the internal differences of the elderly.3The characteristics of shopping behavior in the urban elderly mainly include four types with both advantages and disadvantages: economical, mature, enjoyable and fashionable. Though the spatial pattern of their shopping behaviour is broadly in line with the distance decay law, it has wave phenomena partly manifesting as a fiveringed structure.
