中外期刊英文摘要动词使用对比研究

A Comparative Study of Verbs in English Abstracts of Chinese and International Journals

动词是构成句子和篇章的最重要元素之一,其意义和作用也是学术写作中需要注意的关键问题。中外期刊论文摘要中动词使用情况差异较大,一方面反映出国内作者词汇量不够丰富、倾向反复使用简单的熟词,另一方面揭示了国内期刊摘要与国外期刊摘要相比,普遍缺失"背景"和"研究设计"等语步。

Verbs represent one of the most important elements in sentences and text construction. Verb meanings and textual functions need to be observed in the academic writing. There are differences in the use of verbs in English abstracts from Chinese and international sports medicine journals. The present study shows that Chinese authors have a relatively limited vocabulary, and tend to overuse simple,familiar words,and that,as compared with international periodicals,domestic periodicals generally lack the＂Background＂ and ＂Study design＂ moves.
