The paper traces the intertextuality in Eagletonian works,proves the limitation of the intertextuality between the dictionary and the text, examines the significance of the intertextuality between Eagletonian texts in identifying concepts,phrases and collocations that play an important part in understanding the whole sentence,and pinpoints the function of intertextuality in translations.
