院校研究在我国的发展及其需求分析

Historical Development and Current Demands of Institutional Research in China

近二十多年来,院校研究(Institutional Research)被译介到中国高等教育领域中来,并在实践中得到较快的发展。但是,院校研究不仅仅是一种研究范式,更是现代高校管理的一个重要工具和手段。院校研究发展的根本动力,在于高校管理科学化、民主化的需要。目前,中国高校管理制度的"行政化倾向",抑制了对院校研究的有效需求。院校研究在中国高等教育领域的实质性发展,主要取决于高等教育管理体制在深层次上的改革。

Institutional Research(IR),both as a new paradigm for research on higher education and an important administrative strategy in higher education institutions(HEIs),was introduced to China around 20 years ago and has undergone a rapid development since then.The ultimate goal of IR is to make higher education administration more rational and democratic.However,nowadays the pervasive tendency of bureaucracy in China's higher education system has reduced,and even eliminated the demands for IR.It is therefore necessary to carry out a radical and profound reform in higher education system so as to vigorously promote the development of IR in China.
