Using solar energy and other new energy in the power generation and electric propulsion technology of marine integrated electric propulsion technology has become one of the most attention on green technologies of the ships. For the application of solar photovoltaic system to ships, and on the basis of introducing the principle and usage patterns of solar photovoltaic system, the paper analyzes the application of the solar photovoltaic system to ships, discusses and summarizes important characteristics of ship power based on solar photovoltaic system, and provides a basis for the design and application of system in the future.
