功能文体学研究的新进展

New developments in Functional Stylistics

功能文体学是文体学中发展最为成熟的分支或流派之一,本文旨在综述功能文体学研究最新的进展情况。本文发现功能文体学在理论方面的探讨目前主要集中在文学文本的独特性、功能语言学的理论框架在文体学分析中的充分性和文体学研究的实证性三个方面;而功能文体学的应用研究除了继续发掘功能语言学经典理论在文体学分析中的新价值,还开始把功能语言学新的理论发展应用到文体学分析之中,另外还呈现出与其他理论视角相结合的特征。

This paper provides a survey of the latest developments in Functional Stylistics, one of the best developed schools of stylistics in the new century. The survey shows that the theoretical research in this school of stylistics focuses on the following three issues: the uniqueness of literary texts, the sufficiency of functional linguistics in stylistic analysis, and the empirical claim of stylistics. It also finds out that stylistic analyses from the perspective of functional linguistics have, on the one hand, made some new applications of the linguistic school's frequently used theories, and, on the other hand, incorporated in their analytic tools its new developments. Moreover, the functional approach has been more and more frequently employed in tandem with other stylistic approaches in stylistic analyses.
