National undergraduate electronic design contest is an important science and technology activity for undergraduates, which demands designing and fabricating original works with high level in a short time. In this paper, the roles and advantages of engraving machine in the electronic contest have been introduced. The application and experience of engraving machine in fabricating circuit board have been summarized based on the guidance to students in electronic contest. Additionally, important precautions in PCB drafting have also been given for the convenience of students. It is hoped the above experience could be helpful for the preparation of electronic contest and for the electronic teaching reform.
