Metonymy within the Framework of Cognitive Pragmatic Inferencing

本文从认知语用学角度考察语用推理中转喻的运用,语用推理涉及交际者双方的身份意识、动态语境、理性、交际策略、概念化和概念混合、所意图、所言说、所隐含等方面。转喻的理解常常综合依托上述各要素,它以概念转喻为桥梁,由交际双方共同完成一种动态的心智整合,其本质特征是语境的动态性以及交际意图与动态语境在理性和认知作用下的意义整合。

This paper explores the use of metonymy from the perspective of cognitive pragmatic infereneing. Pragmatic infereneing in- volves the sense of identity of the interlocutors, the dynamic context, rationality, communicative strategies, conceptualization and conceptual blending, as well as what is intended, what is said and what is implied. The understanding of a metonymy often de- pends on these factors, which takes conceptual metonymy as a bridge to realize a dynamic integration of the mental process of the interlocutors. Its essence is the dynamicity of context and the integration of meaning of the communicative intention and the dy- namic context under the effect of rationality and cognition.
