华裔美国文学作品母题“本土化”进程之历史探究

Study on Localization Process of Chinese-American Literature Works Motif from a Historical Perspective

20世纪50年代,华裔美国文学作品的母题呈现"本土化"趋势,及至20世纪70-80年代,华裔美国文学作品母题"本土化"日臻完善。华裔美国文学作品母题"本土化"进程主要表现为中国母题的缺失、"身份"母题含义的流变、"关系"母题内涵的新建构。对此,以刘裔昌、黄玉雪、汤婷婷、赵健秀、谭恩美等为代表的华裔作家,从不同方面展现中美两种文化之间的冲突,而他们作品的主题主要反映华裔作家处在美国文化与中国文化夹缝中的尴尬生存状况。在这种冲突中,他们或者和解,或者反抗、寻找自我、努力构建自我文化的身份。一言以蔽之,华裔美国文学作品母题"本土化"就是华裔作家对归属、两种文化等问题的思考,并在其文学作品中加以淋漓尽致的叙述,由此在美国文学界获得应有的话语权。

In the 1950 s,the motifs of Chinese-American literature works trended towards the ＂localization＂,and this ＂localization＂ trend developed and approached perfection day by day till 70-80 sof the twentieth century,which featured in the lack of Chinese motif,the rheology of Chinese motif ＂ownership＂ and the reconstruction of Chinese motif ＂relationship＂.The representatives of ChineseAmerican writers,such as Liu Yichang,Huang Yuxue,Tang Tingting,Zhao Jianxiu and Amy Tan,revealed the conflicts between American culture and Chinese culture.The themes of their works focused on the hard situations in the cleft between the two cultures,including compromise,rebellion or seeking for ＂self＂,in the hope of rebuilding the ownership of their own culture.In a word,the aims of the ＂localization＂ of the motifs were to think about the ownership and the cultural issues that Chinese-American writers pursued,and reflected in their works in order to gain the due discourse right in the American literary field.
