On the Three Issues While Studying the Two Historical Periods Before and After Reform and Opening Up

国内外学术界关于中国改革开放前后两个历史时期的研究,主要存在三个问题:一是割裂历史的问题,认为邓小平及其后中国的发展与毛泽东时期的方向"完全相反",背离了毛泽东主义,也背离了社会主义;二是自相矛盾的问题,一方面承认改革开放前毛泽东时期探索中国特色社会主义有一个良好的开端,另一方面又不承认其为中国特色社会主义的历史起点;三是逻辑混乱的问题,一方面承认中国特色社会主义理论体系继承和坚持了改革开放前毛泽东时期关于社会主义建设的正确思想,另一方面又认为中国特色社会主义理论体系不包括改革开放前毛泽东时期关于社会主义建设的正确思想。澄清这些问题,具有重要的理论和实践意义。

There are three major issues in the academic circles from home and abroad in terms of the research of the two historical periods before and after the reform and opening up.The first issue is recognized as dissevering history,which advocates that under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping,the direction of Chinese development thereafter are totally 'contrary to' that of Mao Zedong period,deviating from Maoism and socialism.The second one is recognized as self-contradicting issue.On the one hand,it admits that Mao Zedong period before the reform and opening up is a sound beginning of exploring socialist with Chinese characteristics.However,on the other hand,it denies that the first period is a starting point of socialist with Chinese characteristics.Lastly,it is an issue with logical mess.On the one hand,it admits that socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics inherits and adheres to the correct thought about socialist construction pointed by Mao Zedong before the reform and opening up;on the other hand,it believes that socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics does not include the correct thought about socialist construction pointed by Mao Zedong before the reform and opening up.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to clarify these issues.
