Interpretation of Black Images in Heart of Darkness

《黑暗的心》是英国现代作家约瑟夫·康拉德的不朽力作。作者以尖锐的笔锋深入地批判了欧洲殖民者的行为,并对非洲人非人的、苦不堪言的生活遭遇表达了同情。殖民者对非洲人民从经济到文化上进行掠夺,在此过程之中,同根同族的土著黑人分化成了几类人。文章以形象学视角来审视处于后殖民主义奴役下的各色黑人形象变化。

Heart of Darkness, an immortal masterpiece by British modern novelist Joseph Conrad, sharply criticized the behaviors of European colonists, and expressed the commiseration towards Africans’ nonhuman life experiences. The colonists plundered Africa people from economy to culture, during which the indigenous black with the same root and family were differentiated into kinds of people. This paper surveys images change of the black being enslaved by the post colonialism from the perspective of image studies.
