The construction of the PO/MTBE combination unit,which comprises a part of the PO/AE integrated project,has been completed mechanically at the WanhuaChemical Group Company in Yantai and currently theprocess route of all facilities has been tested. The PO/AEintegrated project mainly covers a 750 kt/a unit formanufacture of propylene from propane dehydrogenation,a 240 kt/a PO unit, a 750 kt/a MTBE unit, a 225 kt/abutanol unit, a 300 kt/a unit for producing acrylic acidand acrylic esters, and a 300 kt/a polyether polyol unit.The PO/MTBE unit will adopt the technology for cooxidationof isobutane with propylene licensed by theHuntsman Corporation.
