摘要 距上一次令人印象深刻的个展“武不善作”(2012,北京)两年半后,在三月的第一个周末、香港巴塞尔艺术展之前的档期,伴随着798和草场地的备艺术机构在2015中国新年后集体奉献的第一波喧嚣,杨心广的最新同名个展在北京公社开幕。作为这家以相对稳定、固守的风格或模式为特色的本土画廊的开年展览,其现场正像展览标题一样既简单又直白。 More than two years since his last major exhibition, "Vio- lence Without Mercy" in 2012, Yang Xinguang presents his first solo show with Beijing Commune. The first exhibition of the new year for a gallery known for its consistent and conserva- tive style, Yang's project is as simple and straightforward as its lack of a title suggests, with five works or groups of works in two spaces under fluorescent lighting. Although individual pieces continue to extend the artist's sensitivity to materials and frank, cold humor, the underlying tone of the exhibition is conven- tional; the original forcefulness and physical violence of cutting, carving, plastering, soldering, and flattening is imperceptibly reduced and turned into a formal, decorative aesthetic.
