Tentative Discussion on Wang Niansun and Wang Yinzhi's Linguistic Outlook

清代是我国古代语言研究的巅峰时期,高邮王念孙、王引之父子则是这一时期的杰出代表,王氏父子的语言成就与其科学的研究方法,与其正确的语言观密不可分。王氏父子语言观的研究对于总结我国古代语言学术思想,指导今天的语言研究实践仍有积极意义。

China＇s traditional linguistic research peaked during Qing Dynasty. Wang Niansun and his son Wang Yinzhi were among the most prominent linguists of the period. Their outstanding accomplishment in linguistic research is inseparable from their scientific research methodology and correct outlook on language. It is,therefore,of great significance for summing up China＇s historical linguistic thoughts and directing the current linguistic research to explore their linguistic outlook.
