在西湖旁，有两条著名的堤。一条叫做苏堤，—条叫做白堤。苏堤是为了纪念苏轼。而白堤则是为了纪念我们今天的主角：白居易。白居易和李白、杜甫一样，生于唐朝。不过和他们两者不同，白居易所处的时代已经是鼎盛之后的中唐了。白居易自幼聪颖，而且读书十分刻苦。在年轻的时候，他头发就全白了。
Around the West Lake, there are two famous causeways. One is Su Causeway. The other is Bai Causeway. Su Causeway is in memory of Su Shi. And Bai Causeway is in memory of Bai Juyi. He is today＇s leading role.Bai Juyi was born in the Tang Dynasty like Li Bai and Du Fu.
