Objective To investigate the clinical effect of western medicine integrated with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of children with henoch-schonlein purpura(HSP).Methods Totally 64 cases of children with HSP were randomly divided into two groups,32 children in each group.Control group was treated with western medicine, while treatment group treated with traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine. Both control group and treatment group were treated for two treatment courses. Results After two courses of treatment, the effective total rate of control group was 75.0%,while the effective total rate of treatment group was 96.9%,and there was significant difference in the effective total rate compared control group with treatment group(P〈0.05)by chi-square(χ2)test,the clinical effect of treatment group was better than control group. In the treatment process, seriously adverse did not appear in both control group and treatment group. In the one-year follow-up after clinical treatment, the recurrence rate of HSP in control group was 35.7%,while the recurrence rate of HSP in treatment group was 4.3%,and by Fisher exact probability test, there was significant difference in the recurrence rate of HSP compared control group with treatment group(P〈0.05),and the recurrence rate of HSP in treatment group was lower than that in control group. Conclusion There is significant clinical effect of western medicine integrated with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of children with HSP.The treatment protocols is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
