With the cut-down of college English classes and the deepening of the lifelong learning concept,the extracurricular autonomous learning is increasingly important. As a new thing in digital era,microfilms are broadcast in via of mobile media and networks. Its features of＂three-micro＂,wide citizen involvement and super interactivity correspond with the values of university students.The paper tries to analyze the functions of the microfilm in improving extracurricular autonomous learning capacity of college students from aspects of narrative features and broadcasting characteristics.
