The concept of female chastity and physical constraint in Song Dynasty is discussed. At this period of time,physical constraints were important for young girls. Men valued virginity very much so foot-binding and other physical constraints to females started. Since men enjoyed middle-and-higher social status,family violence happened occasionally.
